Why is it that no matter how busy a restaurant is, if you have children with you it always takes about 45 minutes longer than it should? On Friday night we went out to dinner at The Cheesecake Factory, not something we normally do on a Friday night but we thought we would give it a try. It actually wasn't that bad. The kids were good, Emily enjoyed flipping thru the 50 page spiral bound menu and Ben made train tracks with all the forks. He found it quite amusing that we each had two forks. He was also quite impressed with the GIANT size serving of french fries he was given before his pasta arrived. I think his exact words were something like this, "Look Momma I get to eat only French Fries!" We had a 30 minute wait for our table so these photos are from that wait. The kids had spent the day with Grandma and Grandpa Dockerty and they had gone to the Minnehaha pool with their cousins. Aunt Sheli had put Emily's hair in 3 ponytails so I had to get a picture of that. She was still wearing her swimsuit cover up but it was cute enough to double as a dress so I left her in it. Going out to restaurants with children is not my favorite thing in the world to do but I can't really complain. Although, I would like to comment about the portion sizes so many restaurant now serve. It is getting down right out of control. A side a french fries does not need to be enough fries to feed a family of 10!
